Sheree did a 180 on me today and instead of talking about where to take Spacetime, she said she wouldn't be able to rep us any more. She's overwhelmed, she wants to focus on comedy writers, and she doesn't have a drama person any more. I asked about my features, but she feels that she doesn't have the connections in the areas I have scripts to be at all of value.

I asked her if she could recommend us to someone, and she's going to think about who might be a good fit. She doesn't know of any managers that do what she does, so she'd have to recommend us to agents. That would be fine with us, but we'll see if she comes up with any leads. I may also ask her if she'll at least send my pilot out under her cover so I can call places and get it read. Without the agent stamp, it's nearly impossible to get people to open their doors to you.

I'm disappointed. My scripts are better than ever, and still I go backwards. I want to stomp my feet and scream at the unfairness of it all, but who the hell said this would be a fair career? Instead I need to connect with some friends to see if they have any recommendations, make more phone calls, and see if I can come up with a rep.

It's not fair, but it's the nature of this beast. If I can conquer it, then maybe I can work to make some changes to it. Right now, I have to wield the vorpal sword and keep hacking.
