A De-Zeppelined Story Drifts Along

I thought I should thank Jay Lake and David Moles for their forthcoming All-Star Zeppelin Adventure Stories anthology. Why? Well, the anthology generated one flash piece with a Zeppelin theme from my typing fingers, which I submitted to the anthology, and one story that started as a Zeppelin story but ended up moving in an entirely new (and presently unknown) direction sans Zeppelins. The de-Zeppelined story is the one I work on in my bits of stolen time in the evenings or over weekends. I'm looking forward to seeing where the tale wanders next this weekend.

I'm up later than I should be, as my baby girl will certainly awaken early tomorrow morning. Sometimes I just like to act like the nightowl I was before she came into our lives. I'm such the rebel daddy.

I have three story submissions to read for Lone Star Stories, which is a record. I was unable to get to one as quickly as I prefer because work wiped me out this week. So, I'll consider all of them tomorrow. Maybe one or more will catch my fancy.

For my own submissions, I sent "Jack and Jill" to F&SF the other day, even though it's likely too horrorish for the market. You never know.

So far so good on my new pro market submission strategy.

I did manage to wade through that mechanic's lien research and drafting process I wrote of in my last entry. One of the reasons I took the work home was to demonstrate to my partners that I can take care of my cases at home when needed. They can't make themselves do it, so it's going to take a lot of convincing.
