2003-05-22 12:37 PM Kids Say the Darndest Things Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: amused Read/Post Comments (1) Last month we had Bring the Kids to Work Day. At the end they were given form letters to send to our CEO and COO. These are some of the responses, they haven't been edited. (Stuff in blue italics are my notes.)
If I were the boss at Overture, I would: Let everyone go home earlyer, because kids don't have enough time with their parents, and build more offices for people Because if people get off early you are going to need more people, to do work. Good job thinking ahead. I would finish the ceiling The ceiling of the 2nd floor office (where my department was housed until last week) didn't have any white accoustic tiles so you could see the pipes and data wires and things. Made the place cavernous and dark. It's still that way and I don't know why. Leave the ceiling the way it is. err ok, but you're in the minority. Let them get off every 2 hours. depending on what you mean that could be either really cool or really icky. Invite you guys to come help me improve. "I just love what you did to the place." Let the employees off theirkid's birthday's. Parents everywhere would rejoice. Eventhough they didn't get their *own* birthdays off. Give the employees a day that they could bring their kids to work every year. done. You were even there. I thank you four doing the work. Make the snacks free and have more family activities during the year. Definitely make the gameroom bigger with more stuff. I would also get more free food. You guys also need more exciting jobs. Word Always be on top of my scheuldral. I would be on time. I would fix the scealling because they are dreadful! Put real celings in. And I would make snack machine free. keep everything the way it is ecsept cover the celing. I'm sensing a trend here. Dear (Overture CEO and COO) Do you work here. I think so. Give a day off, a cristmas bonnus. Do fun stuf with the childrin and I'll shoy them around. Kick butt. Make the snack machine free because as prince Moses said, the full do much, the starving do less, and the dead (or board to death) do non. This has to be my favorite. It makes no sense and the snack machine rarely has anything worth eating, but it's just great. Prince Moses...*grin* Get better comperters and more places to hang around like on the 3 floor. The 3rd floor has large kitchen with an area off to the side with a couch, a fooseball table, a table tennis set and a pool table, some Nerf toys and a TV with satelite connection. Be a fair boss at the Overture place and I would be very nice to everybody in this building so it can be a nice place to work for money. I would add a extra floor. Give evryone on floors 3, 4, 5 and six because they are very nice. On floor 2 they are to dark and not playful. Yeah I knew I should hide. But instead I stuck around and scared the kids... Pay everyone the same amount, let people discuss when the meeting are, and let people take three days of every month. Prevent AOL from any viras. make it like it is Try realy hard to make the company more ecsesful. I would let them take a whole day off for family things paid!! ROCK, LOL, just kidding, I would be sure to make TONS of time for my family & work hard Make a lot of money like you do now and members if they're new and if not Not only help other people. I would also help workers. Also I would give you a week off somtime. Even bring your kids whenever you want. Even let you staff your work at any time but you hae to at least finish your work. CEO of the future, ladies and gentlemen! Help other if they need help on anything and help Overture raise money to beat Google. I hope Overture will beat Google a lot of times and get a big note saying we beat Google a lot of times. Ha! Take that! Give everyone more day's off Pay people more money. You're hired! Declare the day as a free day to spend w/your kids @ home I would add an extra floor for games only, and make everybody feel comferable. Be very nice give free stuff and let people watch TV. I would make the snack machine free. Do a good. I would make sure that I payed the workers as much as they payed them. I would do what I was seposed to do. Do the same thing you do because I think Overture is fine and you are wonderful bosses. Not push the workers to hard but not make it easy. Do what you are doing right now. I personally think you are doing a great job! Keep it up! Probably fix the pool table and the foosball tables in the game roo, and continue to keep this place casual. I wood let people get off every tues. and weds. The girl who wrote this comes in every so often in the afternoon and leaves with her mom. She's the sweetest thing and has won a lot hearts in the office. And we have no idea why she picked Tuesday and Wednesday. Create a lot of game rooms Let you have fun and also give you free stuff and let you have a really good time. -------------------------------------------------- The thing I like most about your company is: The play room, the sixth floor roof and the free drinks. There is lots of computers All the people. The game room. The game room, elevator, and the office. "There cool." I was the fast search pages like ask jeeves or overture.com. And my dad gets paid from the company. That you have happy employees. The game room. I haven't ever seen another computer or just buisness facility with a game room There on top of it and always nice. I like your air conditioning! You have an awesome break/lunch/game room. I like the free soda's (very hiper). I like your games too. You let kids in. The noc becase of the big screen. That you gusy have a lot of gamse My Dad is hir. The cool computers, really cool chairs, and the really really cool game room. Is the games and the free sond and candy I also like the comperters but I like flat scrin. That they have good games in here and nice stuff to play with if ithad no cool stuff in this thing it would make me bord. The game room. I'm sensing another trend. Your game room and people. The free sodas because you get it for free. A lot of you're computers. It is very very nice. How you put catgories like lost things or dance for the rooms. We name our meeting rooms when we move into the given floor. The 2nd foor is "things that are lost" (i.e. "needle in a haystack," "that lovin' feeling" etc), the 6th floor is "dances" (i.e. "tarantella," "jitterbug" etc). I like the friendly staff, game room, free sodas, and having a "bring your kids to work day." Great Surroundings - for some reason I feel that you hired the nicest most funnest people in the world. The way you have pullpens w/lots of people are all together. Its just they way I wished it was! You make a LOT of good money. I wonder what you use it on. I know you use it on tools for the company but how about the rest? (if you have any left) hmm. good point. I wonder what they do with any extra money. };> That you get free drinks. Also you get to have games at your work. And your not mean. Even cause I'm glad you let my mom work here. You rasie more money and you have a great company. Overture is all over the world. You let people do what they want to do. The game room. I think there are nice people here and it is grate. The free soda machina and the fooseball table. That you have done what you were soposed to do aspecialy my dad. All the computers. The whole thing. Th offices are neat, the rooms are nice and dark, and the employees are always fun and hard working. It's casual, fun, and you can meet a lot of friendly people! Maybe I'll work here somday. eeheexsselent Free drinks/arctecture. Question - why did the stocks fall? we've been asking the same thing for a really long time now... -------------------------------------------------- What I thought about Overture's "Bring Your Kids to Work Day" is: That I got to spend time with my mom. Realy, realy, realy, realy, realy, realy, realy, realy, realy fun I thought it was cool, when: we did the tour of the building. Really fun. It was fun and even more fun, I loved the games and the game room. It had a lot of fun games and was nice to see what my dad does all day and to spend extra time with him. It was almost the best day ever! Almost? It is pretty fun. I think you should do It more often. It was cool. Okay, but it's not lively enough. hmm We'll see what we can do. It was fun. We didn't have to much run around stuff or seeing parents that much. Fun. I like it a lot and I had a lot of fun. Being with my mommy all day and learning what she does at work. I like the snaks. Meeting kids with my same interests. It was o.k. the best thing was the free sond. The wrost thing was the teler because it was tiring going up and down the elvater. I thought it would be cool to go in and it was because it makes action and, I love action. Action is good. So far it was okay. So far it was pretty good but I can't wait until the movie. That it was fun, educational, good, and the best part is no school. When you'll have it again. Spending time with my Dad. A realy good idea. It was great because I got to go on a tour, meet the staff, made new friends, and I got to go to my mom's work. Wonderful! I love it! Cool. It was fun doing all the activities. This was my best. That it was fun and you had a lot of games and it was COOL. And I really liked it. Very fun and you get to play games and you get to see your mom or dad work. The snacks It was okay actulally, because we got to see what you do, and we got to see our parents get to work. great!!! : ) I think it is cool and fun too! It is grate to bring your kids to work day becua it is fun. That I had a very good time. The tore it was so fun I loved the games. That it was fun and I will come next year also. Outstanding. Pretty cool! I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much that I want to work here. That everyone would be wearing suits and stuff and the kids just see what they did not with activitys. The playing. A good time to have and also playing games and having a really good time Fun!! Cool!!! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
