ok I'm trying not to be a jerk about this but I only have so much interest in maintaining my verneer of politeness. So Stupid Woman managed to get herself knocked up a while ago. I suppose it was due to her husband wanting kids and otherwise achieved in all the ways my parents would approve... but I personally can't be bothered to give a shit. I really don't like this woman, she's not very bright but she's in charge, fairly literally, of telling me what to do everyday. She's one of those people who assumes that every time you bring up a problem you obviously haven't taken the basic steps to solve it so she has to redo work you've already done. Then when she realizes the problem is really a bit more complicated she makes a remark like "you always have hard problems!" No I don't only have hard problems, you moron, I just know how to get rid of the easy ones. grah. So anyway. She looks like she swallowed a basketball. I don't know when her maternity leave will begin, but for godsake I hope it's soon. I've already been asked twice to pitch into a pool of some kind. Either to guess some stuff about the kid, gender, time of birth, etc, or to buy something for Stupid Woman. I've made up my mind to write seomthing trite in the card when it comes around, but I'm not giving up my money. Blah. the baby shower is tomorrow. It's timed so that I'll have a hard time avoiding it... Seriously, I'm not this caustic toward pregnant women. I've had a few friends get pregnant, not to mention my sister. I've spent well over a thousand dollars on various pieces of essential infant machinery (carseats, playpens, strollers etc) when not giving up cash directly to the mom or a savings fund. I'll probably keep it up as long as I can. I get annoyed that every special exception must be made for pregnant women when it strikes me that the stuff people talk about as exceptions are often enough just good manners that really ought to be propagated for everyone's benefit. So I feel kinda weird at how much antipathy I feel toward Stupid Woman but it would probably help everyone most if I don't dwell. Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll decide she like enough homelife to stay there forever, or at least never come back here. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
