Marriage is love.

RGBP Friday Five...

1. How do you say goodbye to someone you will see again soon?

Usually a hug and a "Later....take care!"

2. What is your favorite foreign word for "goodbye?"

Since Project Runway, "Auf Weidersein." (sp?)

3. Have you ever planned a special farewell for someone, or had one planned for you?

When I left the lawfirm, a group took me to lunch...I had planned many of those for others' departures over the years. When I left Houston for Chicago, some very special church friends threw me a HUGE farewell shindig, with a caterer and the whole nine yards...

4. What is the hardest goodbye you have had to say?

That's a tough one. Oddly, it's someone I didn't really know at all. While I was serving as a chaplain in a children's hospital, I was asked to accompany/lead a family through their final farewells to their 6 year old son who was being disconnected from machines after he had been declared brain dead following a tragic accident at a local shopping center. The mother asked me to speak to him and to pray as they disconnected the machines. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in ministry.

5. What is the most romantic goodbye you have seen in a movie?

Casablanca...the airport...as Ingrid/Ilsa must go, leaving Rick/Bogey behind.

Bonus question for Musical Theatre geeks: Which Von Trapp child would you like to be in "So Long, Farewell?"

Gretl--bumping herself up the steps slowly..."the sun, has gone, to bed, and so must I-aye"........ I love getting an "awwwww" and that's the "awwwww" moment.
