Marriage is love.

Dad Update

So the doctor says, there is some kind of infection, but he's not sure what. (They are culturing now.) Dad's water retention isn't congestive heart failure--or doesn't appear to be. Dad's on Cipro (sp?) and already feeling better. He is now also on a diuretic, but still has to keep hydrated b/c of the chemo, so that will be a touchy situation.

The doctor had to come clean today that the chemo he had given Dad isn't approved by Medicare for Dad's condition and they won't pay for it. So we're done with that.

Monday morning they are doing a full upper body scan, and updating the blood work. This will determine if the third chemo they want to start on Monday will be the right thing. The doc says this chemo is generally better tolerated than the stuff he was giving Dad. Here's hoping.

Mom and Dad both say they will finally sleep tonight. Dad had been feeling so bad with the other chemo (and the anti-nausea and the anti-diarrhea) that Mom was actually afraid that the cancer had come back.

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers...and keep them coming.
