2007-04-17 7:37 AM '08 Hopeful Thompson with a Mouthful of Toes Though perhaps he chose the perfect time to stick his foot down his throat (there being many much more important matters before us)...I think we can check Mr. Thompson off the list on the Republican side.
From the wire services: Former Wisconsin governor and Republican presidential hopeful Tommy Thompson told Jewish activists Monday that making money is "part of the Jewish tradition," and something that he applauded. Speaking to an audience at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington D.C., Thompson said that, "I'm in the private sector and for the first time in my life I'm earning money. You know that's sort of part of the Jewish tradition and I do not find anything wrong with that." Thompson later apologized for the comments that had caused a stir in the audience, saying that he had meant it as a compliment. Stereotyping is always a compliment, Gov. Just ask the ladies of Rutgers. Um...hate to tell you sir, but you are done. On your way out of this campaign don't let the doorknob hit you where the good Lord split you. Later.
