I know how dangerous it is to take things like this out of context (i.e., that very well could have been a lookout for snipers)....but the laughter, indeed the celebration, defies any contextualization. Shame on those taking refuge in the mosque (if that's what was happening). Shame on the soldiers celebrating. Shame on us. I wonder what our reaction would be to the destruction of one of our holy places? Or is that what 9/11 was...the Twin Towers and the Pentagon...holy sites for the American Empire?
