2007-05-26 7:58 AM The Clouds Gather On Wednesday Dad had a bone scan. The cancer showed up in multiple locations in the bone. So doctors' scheduled him to receive a central line next Thursday and start chemo on Friday.
Yesterday, Dad was having trouble with lunch. Turns out that in just over two weeks, the tumor in the esophagus has grown beyond the stent that was placed there and is almost closed over again. The on call gastro doctor says that a J-Tube isn't really an option since Dad doesn't have a stomach to speak of, and because the procedure might be something Dad can't handle. So he is back in the hospital, back on the IV...and we wait until Monday or Tuesday for the doctors to present a plan. While we covet your prayers for a miracle, we also covet your prayers for the journey that lies ahead for all of us, regardless. May each of us see this and every day for the gift that it is. I'm currently scheduled to be back down south in the middle of next week...that may be moved up. Peace. Read/Post Comments (9) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
