Ondine She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan 2004-10-11 8:28 AM Viable Paradise Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (3) |
VP was so wonderful. I came away with two new stories and a great fix on the cowboy story. I also figured out some important plot things for the new novel and a rewrite for the first one. The staff worked non-stop to teach us and make us comfortable. They gave away secrets of the trade, fixed our stories, listened to our hopes and dreams, and tackled our questions with straightforward answers. I learned so much about the writing and about the business. A special thanks to Laura, Steve and Jim for my one on ones, and to Teresa for my five way. I have a ton of projects to work on now and I feel so sparked and excited about all of them. On a personal level: Typing away into the night with my roomies, Anna and Andy and cheering each other on when we got ideas for stories. Heart to heart talks on walks with Scott, April, Joe, Yoon, Maggie, Steve, everyone. Swimming in the freezing Atlantic with April and collecting shells with Maggie and Yoon. Jax playing Henry the 5th as George W! Discovering Carol, Deborah, and I were all brazen hussies before we nabbed our hubbies. :) My trusty bike and getting lost in the scary forest. Glowing jelly fish, the milky way, and the satellites. I feel I came back a stronger person and believing that I can do this. I can be a writer. All good. |
