Ondine She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan 2005-09-21 1:35 PM Friends Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (3) |
My friend Debby has to have a double mastectomy. She says the doctor is very positive about the cure, but I am scared for her and for me. I don't want to spend the next 50 years without my friend Debby. She's gave us Dr. Zachary and Dr. Miklusak. She saved the kids and me. She is kind, brilliant, funny, loyal, an artist. I want her alive and well. I love my girl friends. I love that I can call them any time I want and don't have to worry about if they are into me or if I am being too forward or what ever. They don't baffle me. There's no mystery about it. Girl friends tell you exactly how they feel constantly. If something bad happens, they rally and keep tight together, taking care of the pets, the kids, everything. If you gain 10 pounds because your husband divorces you and your son is ill, they don't tell you, you look fat. They tell you they love you and you are beautiful. I will forever see my daughter getting rid of the empty chair for me. Her taking Joe's and my hands and saying it's always been us three. Virginia is going with me to Washington on Friday. Angela, Virginia and I will march against Bush. Girlfriends saving the world. When the tears come, I call Jenn and eventually she's got me laughing and ready to go out there and fight again. Jenn does keep me fierce. Thank goodness for my girl friends. |
