Was talking to Bjart last night about rping. Bjart's K'taq was the second Pooka in the old old rpgamers forum. My Ondine was the first. I think Bjart was 15 when we met. Ondine sewed on K'taq's bunny ears when he became a Pooka. Bjart is in his 20s now in graduate school. We've met once face to face, but he is and always will be one of my closest friends. We have both stopped rping for the same reason: Real life has gotten to be too much fun. I've tried to play a few times in the last couple of months, but I get consumed with a sense of desolation, because it reminds me how much I used the games to fill the void of my marriage. I can't go back to that airless place ever again. Ondine and Pearl were always me, anyways--different sides of who I am. And Bjart will always be K'taq. Went to see Serenity with Jenn, last night. It was such a great movie--but sad, and funny too! The fighting scenes were awesome. There's got to be a sequel! Or bring back the series, or something. I have fallen in love with Peter Rowan. Dennis turned me on to him. Listened to his song Angel Island about 100 times yesterday. Now I have him on my yahoo engine thingie. Here's his web site: http://www.peter-rowan.com/home.html |
