Ondine She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan 2005-11-08 11:27 AM 50 year old men Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (4) |
Fifty year old men smell like incense. They wear soft clothes, old leather jackets that they bought in their thirties and loved longer than any woman in their lives. Their hair is thinning, their pace slows, they have a look in their eyes, fear and bafflement. Where did it go, they whisper, thinking no one can hear. The fear makes them self centered. The bafflement makes them unsteady on their feet, no longer agile, no longer immortal. But they remember love-ins and say things like, "It's really all about Keith Richards". It touches me that bit. It smells like incense. I can see the ghost of the long haired boy inside them. I can hear the old music when they kiss me. There is a spider web beauty in 50 year old men. |
