ADMIN PASSWORD: Remember Me

Ondine
She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan

Inspired by Jenn's entry on her amazing year.

Survived a divorce.
Carried my son through a horrible illness.
Sent my daughter off to college.
Adopted two teenagers and four cats.
Dated a lot.
Met Dennis.
Fell in love with Peter Rowan.
Learned how to use double nunchucks.
Started wearing mascara again.
Found an excellent lawyer.
Took my daughter to march in DC to impeach that rat bastard imperialist shit head George W. Bush.
Finished Faery's Child for the LAST TIME!
Started writing poetry.
Bought a new car on my own with cash.
Rented a house all by myself.
Clung to friends, family, and therapists through all the chaos.

I have not had a year of such darkness since my sister died New Years Eve, 1979. But, there's also been so many amazing golden moments. Watching Joe claw his way out of a psychotic depression and Angela stumble but succeed in her freshman year at MICA. Bringing Danielle into our family and realizing she filled the place in my heart left empty when my sister died. Hanging out with Jenn in and out of the dojos. Meeting Dennis and having him open up this wonderful world of music to me. Blue grass loving elk. Seeing Peter Rowan sing Angel Island live. Kisses on a mountain top. Saving Christmas for the kids and myself. Calling myself a poet. Having the means to help friends and family when they were in trouble. Remembering who I am.

"What though the sea with waves continuall
Doe eate the earth, it is no more at all:
Ne is the earth the lesse, or loseth ought,
For whatsoever from one place doth fall,
Is with the tide unto an other brought:
For there is nothing lost, that may be found, if sought"

Edmund Spenser, The Faerie Queene
