In my last journal entry, I talked about how Steph and I managed to break through my temporary writing slump by brainstorming story ideas. We've both started work on the first of our stories from these story ideas. My first one is tentatively titled "When the Dragon Dies" or "When the Dragon Falls", not sure which. I'm about 1,600 words in to it and am planning to finish the first draft by the end of the week, if I can.

I've been fighting off the edge of a cold for the last few days, not aided by a couple of bad nights' sleep. I'm hoping it'll pass me by, because it knocked Steph out for most of a week. I should stop talking about it, though. I think it heard me and it's looking my way.

Today almost became the first day of winter. There was a layer of frost outside the windscreens when I left for work, and I had to wear a coat for the first time since spring. It's warmed up since, thankfully, and now I can declare that it's officially autumn again.

Road collapsed outside our house last night, destoying the pipes so I had to go to work unwashed and unshaven. But then you probably didn't need to know that. Luckily, I have my own office, so no one had to suffer.
