We've both finished the first story of our writing challenges within our timetable of a week.

Mine is called "When the Dragon Falls", unless someone comes up with a better name. It's 2,400 words long, give or take, which is pretty short for me. Almost unheard of. It's either a mainstream coming-of-age story or a fantasy, depending on how you look at it. And that's fine, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know exactly what Steph's is as I haven't read it yet. As soon as I finish writing this, I hope.

Work today was lots of mind-straining adjusting of budget figures. As though I really know what the office costs of the project are going to be in 2009. Ah well. Too many things to think about in it, but it's the weekend (almost) so I can leave them behind.

Tomorrow is time to start a new story. At the moment, I have no idea what it will be about. I've six ideas to pick from, but they are very vague. One week to write the story, if I can. I also have a novel I *must* finish critiquing. Less than 100 pages to go on it, so hopefully by the end of the weekend. It's a middle reader science fiction by a friend, and so far it's very good. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Time to go. We were going to finish watching Sense and Sensibility tonight, and it's getting late (for me).
