So, today I'm supposed to finish my current short story. Unfortunately, I'm only two pages into it, having been in a dead-writing zone for the last three days. I also still haven't worked out the key plot point in the middle of the story. Perhaps I just need to hop over it and finish the end. Busy day at work today, too, as I have to make up for being a complete zombie all day yesterday. Creativity and energy are my watchwords. Here we go.

The roadworks outside our house are still causing some amusement. For some reason, the workers turn up at 7:30 every morning, engage in horrendously noisy work, then go away again an hour later. Why can't they work normal hours? Where do they go?

Yesterday, they managed to dig up the bit they patched the day before. I suspect there may be some confusion. This morning, there were lots of people staring into the hole and shaking their heads.

I was unbelievably grouchy yesterday, mainly from tiredness. I glowered at people as I walked down the street, muttered under my breath, and composed rants in my head. Luckily, I managed not to take any of that home, and we had a nice evening with half a bottle of slightly off mulled wine. Tired again today, but not so grouchy yet.
