Ah, yes, Bubba. Welcome back. Welcome back, indeed, to the land of Summit Beer, frozen lakes and hotdish. It's 15 degrees right now. It's 12 noon. There's been ample time for the sun to warm the frozen tundra, yet it's still 15 degrees.
I'm not complaining. Oh boy, no. Indeed not. I won't be here for the living hell that is January and February in Minnesota. Oh no. I'll be tucked away in my apartment in the sky-y in Chicago. Anyway. Where were we? Let's get back on subject. I'm at the Fiancee's house in the M.P.L.S. enjoying some Diet Coke and M&Ms while taking a break from doing some cleaning. Yep. You heard me right. My first legit day of vaca (last Friday doesn't count, as I was en route for 8 hours, yes 8 -- worst trip ever) is being spent doing some tidying up for the working, breadwinner Fiancee. Hey - anything to earn my room and board. I've done the laundry (ho hum), done the dishes (gasp), scrubbed the floor (gasp!), and scrubbed the shower (LO, WHAT IS THIS I HEAR? SCRUBBED? THE SHOWER?) She deserves it. It feels good to be finished with grad school for three weeks. I really needed it. I needed to get back to all that I know, and all I know to be right -- what was that, Dickie? Aris-who? I'm making dinner tonight for the girl, then we'll relax and watch a movie. Low-key indeed. Tomorrow, I was thinking about doing some shopping, but the sad thing is, I've only got $98 until January. I still need to eat and purchase gas for the bucket 'o bolts. Damn. It's really sad that my whole gift-buying X-Mas is completely contingent on winning in my Fantasy Football League next week. That's right. If I win next week, I guarantee myself at least $210. Better yet, if I win next week and win again the following week, I win $620. BUT, If I lose, I'm either out $60 or breaking even at $75. Now you can see how important next Sunday is for me. VERRRRRRRRY IMPORTANT. Again, I know, this is sad. I should be shot. And killed, probably. But for now, we'll make do. Off to fold some towels and WASH THE DOG. ARGH! But still - it's good to be back. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
