1. If you could build a second house anywhere, where would it be?
A chalet in Southern France or a large house in Northern Idaho. 2. What are your favorite articles of clothing? My grey wool overcoat, four-year old Diesel jeans and a long-sleave t-shirt. Oh, and a baseball cap -- at all times. 3. The last CDs you bought? REM (repurchase of Monster), John Coltrane (Giant Steps, 1960), Wilco (AM), Replacements (repurchase of Pleased to Meet Me) 4. What time do you wake up in the morning? Auto-wake is at 645. Potential to sleep until 830, if not watched, however. 5. Favorite kitchen appliance? A GOOD set of knives. 6. If you could play an instrument, what would it be? Large string bass. 7. Favorite color? White -- like the white of cummulus clouds against a bright blue sky. Love that. 8. Which vehicle do you prefer, sports car, motorcycle or SUV? SUV, but I have a sedan. How boring. 9. Do you believe in the afterlife? At times. 10. Favorite Children’s Book? The Giving Tree 11. What is your favorite season? None, really. I like a little bit of them all. Jan/Feb get long in Minnesota though, so maybe it's not the DEAD of winter that I like as much... but the first few snows are wonderful. 12. Tattoo? What is it? No tattoo. I despise them, but don't care if YOU've got one. 13. If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Read people's minds. 14. Can you juggle? Not really. 15. One person/people from your past you wish you could go back and talk to? Mom. 16. What is under your bed? Shoes. That's it. really. 17. What is your favorite day? Sunday. 18. Which do you prefer, sushi or hamburger? Hamburger, by a landslide. I could eat red meat every day of my life if there were no health and monetary reprocussions. 19. From the people who normally read your blog, who is most likely to respond first? Dickie Cronkite, the only person who reads my blog on a regular basis, and after a day or two will give me a "courtesy post," since no one else cares to comment. 20. On which blog did you find this meme? Reverend Mother, an inspiration to us all. 21. What is your favorite flower? Daisies (I don't really care, but since it's Fiancee's (TM) favorite, it's mine.) 22. What is your favorite meal? Wine: Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon, 1999 Appetizer: Carribbean jerk buffalo wings from BWW Soup: Chicken Wild Rice from Marshall Field's Marketplace or Kowalski's Markets Salad: Anything with a lot of croutons, candied nuts and craisins, with Annie's Roasted Red Pepper Viniagrette. Entrée: Cajun Ribeye with asparagus at Morton's Steakhouse. Dessert: Key Lime Pie. Runner-up: Sesame chicken (no vegetable and white rice)from Shuang Cheng in Minneapolis 24. Describe your PJs. Red plaid, flannel pants and any t-shirt I can find. 25. What is your favorite breakfast? Buttermilk pancakes (with blueberries), sausage (patties, not links), scrambled eggs with cumin and plenty of freshly-cracked black pepper, baguette toast with Hell's Kitchen of Mpls' homemade peanut butter and raspberry jam, orange juice, Diet Coke and hot, black coffee. Runner up: Chocolate Croissant from Breadsmith 26. Do you like your job? What job? We'll see.... 27. What is your dream job? Newspaper writer, freelance magazine writer, part-time professor of journalism. 28. What age do you plan to retire? I don't think I ever will. But, I'd like to have a little more 'freedom' in my late 50s... 29. Where did you meet your spouse/significant other? At my old job. I worked with her cousin, who set us up. First date: Eli's, a nice little pub on the West End of downtown Mpls. 30. Something you would like to do that you’ve never done before. Explore Southwestern China for a few weeks.
