I don't really feel like talking about what happened in Red Lake, Minn. yesterday.
Instead, I'll link a list of resources for more information about the developing story about 17-year-old Jeff Wiese and his killing spree yesterday in Red Lake High School in far northern Minnesota. Wiese killed his grandparents (his grandfather was a cop), stole his guns, and headed to school around 2 p.m. and killed a security guard at the front door, then proceeded to kill at least five of his classmates, a teacher, and left 14 others severly injured, including two who are in critical condition. The worst thing about it: NO ONE CARES. Outside of Minnesota, this story is being buried. Remember Columbine? We had a week straight of live coverage on the news networks, lead stories on local broadcasts and 1A on every newspaper in the nation. This is getting nothing close to that....Why? Let me venture to say this: Red Lake is on an American Indian Reservation, and all of those injured or killed were mostly impoverished American Indians (read=NOT WHITE AND AFFLUENT.) The media has disgusted me once again.
