It's eleven at night on a Friday and I'm sittin' around the house in my jammies. Some may think that's pretty pathetic, some may think that it's not so weird, untill I add the part that they are the same jammies I wore last night, that I have been in all day. Today I have been incredibly lazy, haven't accomplished a single thing, and have loved every minute of it. So, not much to talk about with my day today, but last night was kinda cool. Went to my friend Wazza's house which is kinda in the middle of nowhere, and hung out with him and some of the other guys I know through Dennis and the gaming store that they all spend so much time at. We just hung out in his front yard and talked for hours, not to exciting, but for me, it was really cool because it was all different for me, for one, I sould see millions of bright stars, something I am totally not used to. And then there were the animals, massive birds, bats all ovet the place in the trees and flying around (not little bats, fruit bats with 3-5 foot wing spans called flying foxes, it was soo cool) an owl that just decided to land on the lawn and watch us for a while, and a possum (different form the opussums we get in the states) which was climbing around the tree looking for berries. I was loving all of this wildlife around me thinking how cool this place is. The only uncool part is getting bit by mosquitoes and something which was either a spider or a massive ant. But I have been reassured that if it was one of the several deadly spiders that I would have felt sick pretty quickly and would be in the hospital today if I survived through the night. How comforting. Living where so many things can kill you makes life a bit more interesting I guess. Everyone kinda got concerned when I wasn't sure what bit me, which just worried me more. And today, the bites dont just hurt or itch, they burn. It sucks. So, mental note, when hanging outside at night in a rural part, or any part of Australia, dont sit in the dark on an outdoor bench covered with webs when you are only wearing a cutsie little mini skirt and sandals, no matter how many guys you are kickin' back with, they would rather see you warm and safe from annoying and deadly bug bites than see your legs while they talk about the latest Warhammer Codex that isn't out yet but most of them have prectically memorized already, or the game tournament that just happened or is soon to happen. I guess I really don't need to dress to impress my gamer friends, but I am just that much of an attention whore.
