I haven't had the extended time to sit, think and type that blogging takes. Not that what I post here can be considered much of a blog anyway.
Anyway, I thought at least I'd post my reading list for the first two months of the year. 1. ILIUM, Dan Simmons 2. OLYMPOS, Dan Simmons 3. MICHAELANGELO'S NOTEBOOK, Paul Christopher 4. THE LUCIFER GOSPEL, Paul Christopher 5. TRUE EVIL, Greg Iles 6. LAMB, Christopher Moore 7. INFERNAL ANGEL, Edward Lee 8. FALSE MEMORY, Dean Koontz 9. SLOUCHING TOWARD FARGO, Neal Karlen 10. PLUM LOVIN', Janet Evanovich 2 SF books, 1 horror, and the rest are hard to categorize. PLUM LOVIN' was short, a "between the numbers" Stephanie Plum book which was a very fast read. It was entertaining. It's hard to denote which I'd consider the "best" book I've read. I really loved the pair by Dan Simmons, but LAMB is the one that I keep thinking about. SLOUCHING TOWARD FARGO was extremely interesting; it is an account of a couple of seasons of independent Northern League baseball by a Rolling Stone reporter who is sort of on the outs with Rolling Stone. He is sent to St. Paul to follow the Saints around and to get dirt on one of their owners, none other than Bill Murray, and on their star player that summer, Darryl Strawberry. His preconceived notions about both of them are pretty much proven wrong and he can't go through with the hatchet job he's been sent to do (and which he intended to do). I don't read much non-fiction usually, but this one was very interesting. There. That wasn't so hard, was it? Minimal thought, and I actually got an entire entry in the blog.
