I set up Tivo to catch "Battlestar Galactica" as a wishlist. At the time, I was thinking that I'd catch the new series when it airs, and wouldn't have to worry about risking it.

The SciFi Channel decied to air the original episodes of Galactica, probably as a ramp-up to the new series, and I found it waiting on my Tivo for me to view. So, I flipped it on for the first part of the three-part pilot. I thought I'd have a good laugh, because my memory categorized it as "extremely fun" but "very cheesy."

Well, it's not as cheesy as I remember. The effects are definitely 1978, and the acting reflects the over-the-top style that seems to stick with 1970's shows. But it's not quite as campy as I remember.

Later I remembered that I was 9 when I watched Galactica for the first time. I'm vaguely disturbed about that realization...
