2004-04-25 8:52 PM Committing Tango X and I have taken some tango lessons at the tango center in downtown Eugene. A tango center, who would have thought of such a thing? The center also holds dances on Saturday and Sunday night open to anyone. This is a cheap form of entertainment and the lessons weren't expensive either. I don't call myself much of a dancer, but lessons will help me feel less self-conscious. And right now the lessons have me thinking too much. It's just like writing--think critically about every word, every sentence when drafting will shut me down. Once I get past the beginners hump, and "do" instead of "think", Tango will be much more fun.
Why tango? It's affordable on my budget. And tango is the dance of passion! I love that close embrace. As for writing, I've been plodding along, not getting much done. The next novel resurfaces in my mind from time to time. And I'm buckling down on the rewrite of the story I had critiqued at Kate's two weeks ago. Gotta get that out in the mail this week.
