2004-08-16 8:03 PM Crazy From The Heat I got my story done for Kate's workshop on Saturday. I was surprised at my output on Saturday morning--1600 words. Effortless writing. I even had time to do a pass line by line.
There were only six of us at Kate's this time. This is the summer, everyone's busy. We went out for Thai food at the best Thai restaurant in town--Mekkela's. Kate had a story, which I don't think I've ever seen her hand one in to her own workshop. Damon handed in a story once or twice. Anyhoo, Kate's story was short, clear, and excellent. I failed to come up with anything constructive to say. We also had a story from the one and only Ray Vukcevich. The critique on my story was BRUTAL. Not mean-spirited, but honest. There were some things that needed to be thought out about the story. I was surprised the story got to 5000 words. I knew it should have been shorter, and the critique validated that. I'm eager to start on a new story. Must keep going. I haven't started anything yet. I have a couple of ideas that need to gel into something I can put on paper. **************************************** Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
