Apology

I said I'd go in on a dare from mid-April to mid-may and that fell off to the way wayside. The least I could have done was to do a report here before now. Sorry, I've been bad and unmotivated.

I've been having a writing malaise that's been hard to shake. It's part inertia of course. I know the cure (or on the road to recovery) is to write, yet the flow doesn't come. The novel begs for me to figure out some things before I begin again and I've had some constructive thoughts conducive to the plot.

I've started to work on a short story and that helps a lot. It gives me more sense of accomplishment.

So let's see if I can get the writing and this journal going again. I noticed in my journal archive that last year March, april, and May had few entries. Must be a pattern. When I first go back to work full time the updates are few and far between.

On the horizon, X and I will be heading to Austin this week for her brother's wedding. And I must say he made the coolest wedding invitation I have ever seen (he is a graphic artist, btw). Think classic movie poster with bold, exciting letters reading: The Wedding Of The Millenium. The bride wears a fedora and has a swooning expression. The groom wears an aviator hat and goggles, a heather jacket, and looks ready for action. We're expecting them to take off in a zepplin after the wedding party, so it should be a pretty good time.

The inside of the card is much more romantic with a close up of them kissing. The picture fills the entire inside of the card for background (and they are wearing fedora and aviator's hat) with the expected wedding announcement, place, and time.

Another nice touch is the RSVP cards look like movie tickets with the words: Admit One.

Like I said it should be fun. I don't know if my description does the card justice. If I could post a picture here I would.

We can't seem to shake the rain and clouds around here in Oregon. This is what we get for having a mild winter. Austin should be warm and sunny we get there on Wednesday.
