2005-05-25 8:15 PM Remembering We got back from Austin on Monday. The wedding was in a beautiful outdoor location and it went really well. It was hot. And humid. I don't remember it being that hot when we went down there two years ago in June. That it, I don't remember the heat and humidity bothering me as much last time.
But whatever. We came back to warm, sunny skies in Oregon. The temperature is much more comfortable here. I did manage to write a bit while there. A couple of writing sessions that didn't result in too many words, but I still felt dedicated and dutiful and virtuous. I've been working on a short story and it may be in my best intrest to power through it and get it done fast. I feel like I've been spinning my wheels here! ************************************** Came back home and found out a Clarion classmate of mine had died in a car accident over the weekend. Pat York was one of my favorite people at Clarion in '93. I hadn't talked to her in years, but I was still saddened by the news. From what I've read, other people remember her as friendly and open. Everybody who met her felt the same way. Seems like such a cliche to say this, after all everybody is seen through rose-colored glasses at their funeral, but it's true. What I feel in my heart right now is proof of that. Goodbye, Pat. Thanks for the encourgement and friendship and being there at Clarion in the summer of '93.
