This, folks, is what we in the business like to call "a breather". :)

I've been going pretty non-stop all day today, with this being the first chance I've really had to sit back and take a breath. Between running various database reports for directors and dealing with some of the unions here at the hospital, I even had to get my lunch and bring it back up here to eat while I was working.

On the plus side, I have a spiffy new toy now - a laptop. One of the things I'm doing at work now is "process flow", which means that I look at some of the procedures in the place and see how it can be made more efficient. To help with that, they gave me a laptop. Now, I can't keep it (it's hospital property), but I can take it home with me if I want to. I wonder if they'll notice that my process flow diagrams look suspiciously like Minesweeper. :) I've also got a docking station here on my desk as well, so I'm all sorts of modular today.

Other than that, it's more of the same chaos here at good old Good Sam. The recent rains have caused some parts of the buildings (both old and new) to leak - one of the HR director's offices now has a makeshift waterfall in it, and ten (yes, /ten/) of the Obstetric rooms are unusable due to water running where water shouldn't be rnuning.

So much for the breather. Duty calls.
