Yesterday, I played hooky from work and Jen and I spent the day at Disneyland. We had been wanting to go on the new Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror ride, and this afforded us the chance to do just that. Very cool ride - we did it twice. Although, one of the funnier moments of the day came during the intro to the ride, where a TV screen shows an "intro" to an old Twilight Zone episode about the Tower, complete with Rod Serling (or a damn good impersonator). A father and young son were in the room, and were having ths conversation:

Son: Dad, what happened to the color on the TV?

Dad: Well, old TV shows didn't have color. They were only in black and white.

Son: Oh. (thinks about that for a second) That's lame.

Ah, the things we take for granted, like color TV.

After doing a few more rides in California Adventure, we headed over to Disneyland. I had picked up a pen and one of the little autograph books, and was determined to get as many autographs of the characters as I could, just for the hell of it. As we went on, though, Jen and I realized that we should go one day and spend the majority of the day autograph hunting, so we could have a spiffy souvenier for our kid when we have one... the autographs of all the Disney characters. As for yesterday's haul, I got the fox and cat from "Pinnochio" (Foulfellow and Gideon), Tweedledum, Chip and Dale (although Chip signed both of their names), Devon, (guy who works at the lemonade stand), and Jen's. Next time, I'm going for a full book.

We wandered around the park for a while, went on some rides (although Haunted Mansion was closed yesterday), then came home. Overall, it was a lot of fun, although we were both sore and exhausted from all the walking.

Well, back to work.
