Jen had her appointment at the doctor's office yesterday afternoon, and during the visit we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat on a small Doppler system. It took a minute for the doctor to find, but it was very distinct when she finally did home in on it. Not quite what I expected - it sounded less like the normal "thump-thump" I'm used to hearing, and more like a "swish-swish" sound instead... kind of like a washing machine or an old-school Cylon Raider. Still, there it was, strong, loud, and steady. On top of that, I actually felt the baby move last night. I was giving Jen a backrub, and she told me to put my hand on her belly. Sure enough, there was a slight fluttering movement there, punctuated by the occasional shaper poke. It was so cool. :) Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
