By the time lunch rolled around, I was starving. Rather than make a mess and assemble another salad, I ordered take-out from my favorite Japanese eatery, Kyoto. Because the dogs love the chicken as well as I do, I brought home four Chicken Teriyaki entrees (which also includes rice and steamed vegetables), and sides of Gyoza and egg rolls.
I always chop up the chicken into bite-sized pieces for Foofer and Rainee, and they were in a bit of culinary heaven as they chowed-down. I split their portions of rice and vegetables between myself and my husband, and we had a very nice luncheon interlude.
The egg rolls from Kyoto are superb; the skins are paper-thin, and the cook cuts each in half diagonally. Dipping sauces were also provided for both the egg rolls and Gyoza, and I found myself eating up my share before I even touched the chicken. Quite a satisfying meal; I could eat like that every day. The food is basically healthy – chicken, plain white sticky rice and steamed vegetables – with the only “junk” food perhaps being the egg rolls and Gyoza. However, the method in which Kyoto prepares their appetizers leaves very little grease and a delightfully “crunchy” taste. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
