"Never Look Back" ((and a short story))

'Never Look Back' ~~~composed October 23, 2007~~~

Vs. 1: don't know what I'm gonna do, don't know what I'm gonna say,
But one way or another, I'll make 'em all pay.
Gonna break loose from my cage, gonna get that used car,
And I'll drive, drive, drive, till I can't drive no more.

Ref: And I'll put the past behind me and look to what's up ahead,
Gonna meet some new people, new things, no traces of the old life
That I left behind.

Gotta put trust in myself and the big guy above
And never, no I'm never,
Ever gonna look back...
Yeah...never look back...

Vs. 2: see a golden sunset, lie under the stars,
Lookin' for a perfect life, wherever you are.
Wind blowin' through my hair, and the sun in my face,
My trip 'cross the nation is a never-ending race...

Bridge: sometime's I feel like I'm missin' something,
But I don't know what...I try to remember that I'm free like a songbird
And I can do whatever I want...mmm...maybe I just need someone's
Head on my shoulder, someone to share, yeah, someone to share...my experiences with...

Here's to the open road...

You'll Never Believe (a short story)

You'll never believe what I saw! I saw a big, yes VERY, VERY BIG bowl of ice cream. It was like, 50 feet tall and about 50 feet wide! Popping out of the delicious dairy dessert were jewel-encrusted straws with berry jelly splurting out. It was really a sight to see! Then I saw a string, or should I say, a tree log's width, of cherry red licorice! I climbed on it, up, up, up I went (my fear of heights suddenly disappears at this point for some reason) until I reached the sweet treat's summit.

I seem to have landed in a place called the Ice Cream Kingdom. There, I saw the king of ICE CREAM, although I cannot recall His Majesty's name. We had ice cream parties with all of His Majesty's loyal subjects and watched spectacular sprinkle fireworks (little did I know that the big bowl of ice cream had lifted itself up!). As I bid the people of Ice Cream Kingdom good-bye, I somehow lost my footing and fell off their elevated island!

Fortunately, I fell through one of the skylights of my home and crash-landed on my couch (I don't know how that happened), and miraculously came out without any injuries. And here I am, telling you this strange story. Oh? What's that you say? You don't believe me? Well then, how did I get these great green globs of goo on my shoes? Psst...I can tell you. I'd be more than happy to tell you...BUT! Then I'd be spoiling a story that can be saved for another day. And so my dear friend and reader, I bid you adieu.

Quite happy compared to my emo-ish "Ridiculous Prose and Poetry" entry, eh?
