In baseball that’s a bad day, but it doesn’t tank your batting average in mid-July. Unfortunately opening day was less than a week ago here and I am off to what the analysts call a “slow start.” Many good players often struggle in April and May. Derek Lee never hit better than .250 during the first two months of the season at any point in his career, but he stormed out of the gate this year like a bull with his balls on fire and is posting triple crown-like numbers. What’s his secret? Why in ‘05 does Lee feel like the baseball is moving in slow motion? Several calls made to Mr. Lee were not returned. I don’t claim to be Ted Williams.
