2003-05-12 2:07 PM Conflict Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: conflicted Read/Post Comments (0) I know that you are all chomping at the bit to hear about my strolls down Bourbon Street and around the French Quarter of New Orleans, driving around the swamps and cemetaries, hoping to be able to take a real vacation there to see it all, or walking along the white sand of Pensacola Beach, dodging the mysiads of jellyfish who looked so eager to sting, but so still at the same time, the classic Hollywood style wedding where Janel cried and was more emotional than I expected, where I "locked my knees" standing up there in front of everyone and almost fell (apparently the heat and circulation lock causes peopel to faint), and reception where I spun Janel's bro around like a top and danced like a fiend, even when I was the only one on the dancefloor. (Will be the subject of many "action shots" and know I was the favorite of the photographer besides the bride and groom obviously. I'm such a ham.), billboards, "Spanky" and his friends, Hand Grenades, and all that happened in between.
However, I have a recent development, and although I am pretty damn sure which of these I will be choosing, I certainly didn't want to run into conflicts with either event. May 20th, 7 PM: Margaret Weis will be signing her new book in Century City. She wasn't one of my favorites until recently. I've really enjoyed her's and Hickman's work over the past year or so. May, 20th, 7 PM, Virgin Megastore on Sunset: Weird Al. Signing autographs and signing his new release "Poodle Hat" This will probably be the one I attend although I have met him before, even touched him before, have an autograph, and even his underwear. It must suck being a writer in Los Angeles knowing that the more "exciting" celebrity types will steal your thunder. If only I could be in two places at once.
