Why? Because some construction accident, including a crane, a dropped pileon, much cable exposed and cut, and some dork, has severed our main network, a redundant network, and the networks of several other providers. Our data center has been down all day, and customer escalations have been at an all time high. We have received over 10 times the number of calls that we usually do.
But it is just one of those things that, having no control over the situation, you've just gotta laugh. Some of our customers are even laughing with us, because of the obsurdity of the incident. Well, in other news, since I haven't been able to work with trouble tickets, "Ed" has been renewed for another season. YAY! It's been one of my favorite shows. While they are on hiatus over the summer, their main star, Tom Cavanaugh, will be performing on Broadway in "Urinetown" as Bobby Strong which is a great show. I reccomend it for anyone going to New York, or when it comes to LA next year. It's weird, but it's a great show. Saw the trailer for "Freddy VS Jason" and it looks pretty cool. I think I'm just enjoying the fact that slasher movies and thrillers have been revived since Scream. I think they're pretty fun. Sure, this will be one of the more silly ones, but it's been a long time coming. So I brought the laptop in today to see if I could transfer some work, take some stuff home, and update some spreadsheets, and the damn thing won't even boot up. *grumble* It's always been a problematic laptop. The company will prolly never give me a better one, but eventually I would like to just get a new one of my own. I skipped karaoke last night but caught up on other stuff. The driving school had to reschedule my lesson, but I will be done with my lessons this week and will attempt the test next week. It should be no problem, unless of course I screw up really bad. I've already got my eye on a few possibilities for cars. I'm definitely going to go for a new one though, because warranties are a good thing and I'm scared to death winding up with someone else's lemon. I've got website stuff to do today before I leave, and have some other game stuff to put together tonight, including my game announcement for Saturday's game. Okay, back to pseudo-working.
