Okay, so I haven't written a lot because I've been way busy and preoccupied and havn't really had the time for much self contemplation and journalling, and hadn't sat down to journal for a while. But currently, I am contemplating a huge step in my life and career path, and need to make that decision soon, and would probably do well with a bit of input. After 3 interviews, tests, marketing and writing exercises, I have been offered a position with American Express Financial Advisors. It looks like a huge opportunity for me, but it is a big decision, one that would put me at a considerable struggle considring there would be licencing fees and 10 weeks of studying and getting licensed before getting paid. Also, I've never done a comissions based job before, so am a bit apprehensive about it. It is absolutely one that I know I can do, and do well, but there are some hurdles that need to be considered within the next 24 hours. If I do take this job, I'll need to find something for about 3 months, and other than temp agency, am not certain how to pull it off without simply omitting the fact that I'd be leaving the position soon. I'm also looking at good 60 to 70 hour weeks for about the first year. However, the licensing alone would open up opportunities for many other positions and would add more credentials to my resume. It's such a toss up right now, and honestly I am not sure where I lean, whether it is viable/possible if I was absolutely sure I wanted it, and have another 24 hours to be sure. I do have some other prospects though. I got turned down for two positions so far this week from my interviews this week and last, but already have an interview (possibly two) scheduled for next week so am doing ok. Blah and Argh! On a happy note, I have discovered, via the joy that is Netflix, that Stargate SG1, at least from the 4 discs of the season so far, is a pretty rad show and I'm really digging it a lot. I don't know why I didn't catch on to it earlier but catching it from the beginning and in order, it's pretty neat. Hmm... Not much else at the moment, back to job hunting goodness, then to tackle some other stuff. Cheers! Vote for Pedro! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
