I get a chance to catch up on things, have some breakfast, close tickets, work on documentation, and glance at journals every now and then before the hustle begins and everyone wants a piece of me.
Some mornings are quieter than others and today is just one of those mornings. The only thing I can hear right now is the sound of my keyboard. Here's a bit of absurdity for for your day, link lovingly yoinked and passed along from Neil Gaiman's journal. So I think I've finally kicked my cold. Still a little stuffed up, a little coughing last night, but for the most part, it's gone. I should have taken the advice of a few people and skipped the flu shot, because I kinda got a little sicker after getting it, and the cold has been dragging for almost a week now. Still considering going to a doctor just to make sure all is well. Saturday I was just wiped out. I pretty much skipped all of my plans for the day because I was just tired from like 11 AM on. Got up at 8, did some housework, and then it was like all my energy was sucked outta me. I went to bed early, also skipping what turned out to be a fairly eventful LARP. Stayed in bed for like 10 hours, even though I woke up a few times I was determined to stay in bed and get rest, and by Sunday I was doing so much better. I think my body just decided that it was going to go on strike until I got some rest. The nest day I went to tea with a buncha people at a little tea house in Pasadena. It was quite lovely. Afterwards we went to a birthday dinner for Melissa. Work has been pretty nice this week. Not too busy, but not too quiet. Aside from somehow losing a whole can of Ginger Peach tea, which may have been picked up from one of the kitchens in the office by someone, it's been pretty cool. Actually, it's been pretty cold these days, especially at night. Of course, I read journals where people are dealing with -6 weather, pre-wind-chill, and I feel pretty fortunate. At least I can leave the apartment with hair slightly damp without the worry of it freezing and shattering. I'd really like to see some snow this winter. Somehow. I think that would rock.
