I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42 | ||

2003-03-14 5:13 PM NOVICA Most of my life currently revolves around my martial art, but I actually do have a job. It's a really cool job. I commented on Jenn's journal a few days ago that I was stil (spelling mistake preserved for posterity) wrapped up in the 'dot com and reinventing myself thing.' The reinventing myself involves the martial arts and writing and in general living in Los Angeles. The dot com part is NOVICA. I cannot say enough cool things about this company. We sell art and home decor from around the world over the internet. We are not the only website that does this; however, there are many things which distinguish us from the pack. We have offices in each region that we offer products from. We develop personal relationships with each artist. They set the price they will receive when the item sells, and we charge them nothing to list their products on our website.
This company was started by my first cousin, Roberto Milk, his wife Milena, and her mother, Armenia, who worked for the UN for many years. We have an association with National Geographic.
I'm part of the team that developes the infrastructure that makes this whole enterprise work. I enjoy every day of work. I'd love some input as to how I can make the site better. I'd love to generate some buzz. I'm a little lost as to what more I can do to spread the word. I want to see us grow, because we help so many people. Reality is difficult for me to deal with... on that noteI'm going to refer to my 'write something' goal now as my 'get my link moved to the left side of Jenn's link page' goal. I'm going to return to my sidelined shapshifter project, with a short work I'm calling Zen and the Art of Unlocking One's Car.Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
