I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Lullaby

I just finished reading Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club. I wrote on bookcrossing:
I actually liked this much more than Chucks previous outing, Choke. As twisted as Chuck's previous books are, this one takes the cake. It's about a poem that kills anyone who hears it, a guy that can't stop using it to kill, a real estate agent that sells haunted houses, a witch (a nice one), and her con artist/Messiah boyfriend. Chuck writes in the first person, which is maddening to some, but it's his style, and he spins a good yarn with it.
Of his work, choke is the only one that didn't really grab me. I might have just read it too fast...I sometimes do that with authors I really like.

I wrote a few pages (actually the ending) to a short story. I'm going to complete it so that I have something to point to and say, "That's my first story." I will then follow it with another story. Hopefully that will be followed by another. This is the goal.

Sunday found me on the beach again, kicking and punching my heart out. It was so windy and cool that we stayed out too long and all got too much sun.

Saw 'Willard' over the weekend. Morale: 'Just because you're the underdog, doesn't mean you're in the right...' I loved Glover. The movie came off dark and depressing, which fitted the subject, but was not incredibly fun to watch. The theatrical trailer for this film is one of my all time favorites; much better than the movie in my book.

Still wasting too much time with Kings of Chaos

all for now.
