I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42 | ||

2003-08-05 9:12 AM Possessed Playlist I decided to try out Netflix. I was putting all of the Deep Space 9 discs into my queue when a song I recognized started playing on iTunes. Sure enough, it was the theme to Deep Space 9. Summer of '97 was my first real experience with mp3's. I encoded my cd collections, and all my buddies collections, and the cd library of the school's radio station. When we had that many songs set up for random play, this kind of thing happened all the time. People would walk into the HelpDesk, and always hear their favorite song. We ended up killing this gigantic collection before the summer was over, because the server we'd used for space had to be wiped before it was added into the pool of Student fileservers, but the point of all of this is that strange phenomenon. I noticed the same thing occasionally when using services like launchcast. Think about it...
gotta shower and go to work. one more thing. last night I made a connection between my Hwarang Yeh Hyung and the sword seminar a few weeks ago. There is this part where there is a rolling block and then strike, followed by a kneeling, rolling block and then strike. The position we're supposed to be in with the kneeling strike is exacly the position we were supposed to be in when striking down with the sword (we were practicing all the sword work kneeling) I love making these connection, especially between open hand and weapon work. Now to practice both, and see if this realization actually helps anything. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
