Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

Today makes our fifth day of walking in a row. This means we have walked six miles. Shoot and the week isn't over yet.

Below is a photo of me and the big guy.

Here's one of our shadow.

Here is a photo of some flowers along the way.

The way the flowers look along our walk I can tell that Fall is here. Plus there is a crispness to the air.

I can't remember if I mentioned it here but Michael is the cook of the house. I only cook when he doesn't feel well.

Anyway, I don't know if he has gotten better at cooking, our getting out daily for our walk or the new medication has put my taste buds on high alert, but, Michael's cooking has been to die for.

For instance, last night he made burgers. Since we had mushrooms I requested a mushroom burger. OMG, it was heavenly! Not only did I have mushrooms, I had cheese, roasted hot pepper (not too much, just enough to taste and no seeds), and, of course, mayo. I had to slow myself down and not inhale my food it tasted so good.

Now the funny part about our dinner, to melt the cheese Michael used the hair dryer. The burger was thick the lid rested on the cheese and would have stuck if Michael left it there. I thought it was pretty ingenious of him to think of the hair dryer; aah, the next new tool for the kitchen.

Yesterday's walk happened late in the afternoon. On our way back we stopped off at Rite Aid. Michael and I both needed some hair ties which we purchased. On the way out the door, the store had a display of their summer sandals on sale. It was marked 75 percent off. How can you lose? I found a pair I liked. They were marked size 10. I held them up to the sole of my tennis shoe and they were shorter than my shoe. Total amount: $2.38 normally $10. Ha, I got home and tried them on and they are too big. Today I will have to take them back to see if I can find a smaller pair or return them if not.

Something I have not done in awhile, I brought out the juicer and juiced some lemons, oranges, limes, a couple of apples and a couple of carrots. We both tasted it and agreed the juice will taste better when it is cold and over ice. Now we have that to look forward to later in the day.

I'm off to get on with my day.
