Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"You can have anything you want if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose." - Abraham Lincoln

Michael and I had discussed the fact that I don't like going to today's food bank. There are some icky people there and there is always a hubbub at where everyone is in line. I just don't like the energy of the whole thing and that of certain people.

Michael was okay in going early to get a good spot in line. Unbeknownst to him, he did not know that the organization had changed the line up time from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and they were going to have everyone draw a numbered chip and that would be their place in line regardless of when they arrived.

As luck would have it, Michael drew the chip with the number one on it. So he was able to get in and out fairly easy. He did find out he did not like going by himself. He said he was agreeable to leaving at 9 a.m. and get there whenever we arrive after that. I feel I can live with that.

While Michael was off getting provisions, I was sleeping. It felt really good though I realized I slept in the shirt I wore yesterday. Guess I was tired last night.

To get the day started, I took my morning meds along with my insulin shot. After that, I groomed Bailey and gave him his treats. After which he had no more use for me. He did keep looking at the door wondering where Michael was. This is one of those times I have to go aaah and pick him up and hold him.

After this, I went in and changed the sheets on the bed and got it made all nice and neat. This wore me out. It seemed when we had the waterbed it was much easier than this California king-sized bed. I got it done though.

I did have to have a sit down and have my first cuppa tea. I decided to start up the computer and look for some music for my mp3 player. It's fun to find the old stuff such as the Andrews Sisters singing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B."

Michael made it home and I assisted him in putting away our provisions. We received lots of good stuff this week.

I got busy and began vacuuming the carpet. When I finished, I sprayed the Cedar Flea Spray on Bailey's cat tree and on the carpet. I am determined to keep out those little pests.

We had a visit from one of our good friends and had a nice chat with her. She is funny because she can't stay long but still she sits and talks with us and as much as we share, she shares in return.

Today, Bailey received a clean litter box and litter. Now that the depth of the litter is a little bit higher, I'm sure I am going to find more on the floor. Today, as in every day, I did a total sweep of the bathroom and before the day is over it will need it again. This is the way it is when you live in a small apartment. We didn't know how good we had it at the Henrietta House and the litter box was in the downstairs' bathroom. Most of the litter was left outside that bathroom door and the bathroom did need to be swept every day.

So to end this day, Michael has gone off to help a friend in need. I'm here listening to music and typing this entry. However, I feel it is time for a cuppa tea.

I hope everyone's day was a dandy.
