"My name is a metaphor. It means carrying Christ and it comes from a Greek word...and it was given to St Christopher because he carried Jesus Christ across the river.

This makes you wonder what he was called before he carried Christ across the river. But he wasn't called anything because this is an apocryphal story which means it was a lie, too.

Mother used to say that it meant Christopher was a nice name because it was a story about being kind and helpful, but I do not want my name to mean a story about being kind and helpful. I want my name to mean me."

-From "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" by Mark Haddon

It seems to me that no human tongue has the word to describe a person. Anybody at all.

"Joe"

"Harry"

"Xiao Ming"

"Mary"

"Xiao Hua"

Brings to mind Rev 2:17

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. "

THAT name will say it all.
