The problem is, sometimes I do.

To have someone to hold on to, through all the nonsense.

Aye, there's the rub.

To have someone to gently, earnestly imprint their heart on your cheek -

Aye, there's the love.

To have someone give you permission to hold her close, and smell the sweet potpurri of her hair -

Aye, there's a spa.

To have someone whisper "I love you" in your ear, and mean it -

I have lived.

And the icing on the cake, the strawberry (since we both don't like cherries) on the cream -

that someone is you, dear.

Would you be true through the twisted storms and corrupting ways of this world? Would you be mine when others look better, have more, talk sweeter, offer stronger arms, drive bigger cars, smile brighter smiles, tell funnier jokes, wear more stylish clothes, write more touching letters, relate better to your friends, make nicer gifts, proffer a bigger diamond (if at all)?
