Oh, yes, that's right. Professional athletes. Mandatory makeup lessons. Sound familiar? From the official charm school guide given to the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League players in 1943: "Every woman wants to have an attractive and pleasing mouth. As you speak, people watch your mouth and you can do much, with a few of the very simplest tools, to make your mouth invitingly bespeak your personality. Your beauty aids should, of course, include an appropriate type of lipstick and a brush. They should be selected with consideration and care." Sixty-five years. Zero progress.
