Rachel (six) is an artist too, because she can render animals, monsters, and the whole gang at the Krusty Krab off the top of her head. Their art is different though. At this age Rachel never changed colors, where Lloyd must. Rachel pressed gently, where Lloyd's energy pushes that crayon, for deep, rich color. She's only learned to go darker from him. Aaron's been telling her more color, forever. Lloyd deliberately uses his entire piece of paper. Rachel still has trouble with composition, as do most people. Lloyd talks about lines a lot. He knows he has long, free strokes and short, jerky ones. Both kinds are quite beautiful. He really likes his drawings too. Aaron is an impressionist. He's a natural. I'm a perfectionist. It takes me all day to draw a still-life. I knew our kids would have art ability, but I'm surprised by Lloyd. Can't wait to see what Dallas can do. I'm off to watch Broken Flowers, again. Should be reading astronomy. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
