All's well that smells well

Why am I sitting in the house on this glorious 71 degree day? Because my nose likes my Walmart hazelnut candle. Do try it.

And Lloyd had an in-store meltdown because I prohibited him from pushing the cart (into displays, etc.). I stopped to tell his on-the-floor self I'd be making a right, and could hear him slowly getting closer. He rounded the corner on all fours. Once beside me I told him no one was allowed to act that way in the store and to look around at everyone (weren't many everyones at 8:45 AM, but enough, and they happened to be looking back at him) not acting that way or being loud. He, like me, is a morning person receptive to learning in the morning.

...Last week's afternoon trip to Target brought a mutual smile from a lady he threw himself in front of (thank God) and one dusted off shirt table a-la Lloyd's hair and outfit. He wasn't having a good time my way--my fault for bringing him. And at Macy's two weeks ago I was in the middle of a sock purchase while he was on his back looking up a woman's skirt. He didn't mean to find anything, he just ... likes people.

Walmart, this morning: He lost the roll of paper towels I had asked him to hang onto but was otherwise a perfect companion, for Lloyd anyway (Dallas didn't make a peep), excited to smell candles and put them back where he found them, and willing to re-handle another assignment of paper towels. He didn't even question my disinterest in the lollipop display he pointed out at the register.

He is Lloyd the Destroyer, destroyer of his own frustrations, at times. What fun! And yeah, that's my kid bothering ya at the store. Please remember he is in-training (and so is his mom) :)
