There are crows here!

They must have blown in from the West with the snow storm we had yesterday. The West Nile virus wiped out our population. Was that the summer of 2002? 2003 maybe? Before that we had many, rummaging through residential garbage cans and cleaning up what gifts cats brought home. I happen to know this because I walked a baby Rachel around the neighborhood sometimes twice a day and they were everywhere, I also left Belly cat mice out to be picked up by the friendly neighborhood crow. Fascinating creature, I think. One of the matches in my baby Rachel homemade matching game was of a cawing crow--because of their presence in our environment, before that summer anyway.

It was just a flock of four. But it's a big deal to me. Every conversation I've had about the crows disappearing has been one-sided: I speak and no one responds. After this morning's sighting I'll talk about it at work tonight and see what input any of the locals have, if any.
