Tune-ups ain't cheap

My aunt came over this morning to pay me for Girl Scout cookies. She asked about my car--I don't think I talked to her about it, so my mom must've. I explained how after $607.00 it won't start the first time and then when it does it coasts for a few minutes instead of kicking its six cylinders in. I suppose that could be dangerous if heading straight onto the freeway. Dark smoke barrels out of the back of it and from underneath, and the car reeks of it. My aunt took a look at the receipt with me and we found that the itemized list of parts, services, labor, and tax add up to less than I was charged. She called them pretending to be a potential customer asking about the cost of a tune-up, which is basically what I had done plus an oil change and tow. They told her $89.95.

I am so fuming I can't stop thinking about it.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Look out Ned up at Goodyear, Enger Tire and Auto Service on 260th Street in Euclid, Ohio! I am coming in! With my two curious boys! To sit! All day! Until! You fix! My van! And! Refund! The money! You stole! From me!

And I'm being a happy, silly mom who lets her little boys explore wherever they may. And sometimes they're loud. And sometimes they fight. And sometimes they get impatient. And sometimes they cry. And sometimes they whine. And sometimes they get bored. Especially when they have to sit and sit and wait. Once bored at a place, returning there again might have them acting up even worse. And I will come back Monday if necessary. And heck, I quit my job and am in my final week of school so I happen to have all the time in the world to harass, yes harass, Ned and his crew up there the next day and the next day too. I mean, who doesn't love two cute little kids hanging around when they're trying to run scams on the public and steal money from them? No one! Duh!

I have to call my mechanic tonight to go over the invoice with him and see where exactly I was overcharged. My mechanic is a super guy but he lost the garage he worked side jobs from. He works regularly at another place in the neighborhood but the place I went to is the closest to me and I've been happy with their service up until now. It ticks me off too that I have used these guys probably six times before, well, this time it's new faces, and they would do this to a repeat customer.

I don't know. I might email the local news' consumer watchdog for a story or something. My aunt said to call City Hall to inquire about reporting them to the BBB.

I just feel like crying.
