Knocked over Buddhas, empty shepherd's hooks, gems from yore--'76 Matchbox "Getaway" collection--unearthed by the rake. Transient plastic dinosaurs as old as six and chipped up by years of mowing, transient earth worms the baby cried about wriggling. The vacuum hoses converted to playthings stretch out along and round off the organic. One foo dog to guard the path, the other a head; the body fodder for the pavement and giggling. Pagodas with their heavy hats off a game for energetic boys. Holes dug, shovels tapping concrete, shepherd hook back and forth in the window, favorite swing back and forth. Ashes the wind took from baby's hand. Dirt, mud, purple crocus petals. An assortment of little shoes, boots, hats, mittens, jackets, coats, and no longer snowsuits at the back door ... for charity, once the Sun takes over.
